Tunelab V1.5.4 Phoneme Editing not working

I'm working with Vocaloid voicebanks in Tunelab V1.5.4 and trying to use a Japanese voicebank. When I tried changing phonemes for Japanese voicebanks, the editor wouldn't recognize the change even if I tried changing the note. Doing this for english voicebanks works though

Update: Tunelab also refuses to update if the lyric is changed, especially for JP voicebanks
